Creative use of one stamp

Today's Christmas card has a few steps but I think you'll really like it. Except for the greeting, it uses only one stamp to create a beautiful Christmas wreath.

I took the designated stamp from the Autumn Fun stamp set and stamped it repeatedly in a circle around a 4"x4" card using Creamy Caramel ink.

Then I changed ink to Garden Green and stamped over the initial impressions. Just approximate to do your stamping and it gives you a kind of blurry appearance. Don't worry though, the next step will clear it up.

Now, using Rose Red ink, stamp the image again on top of the previous impressions. It will now look like there are berries on the wreath. Isn't that amazing for using only one stamp!

Lastly, I added a holiday greeting and a little bow using Rose Red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. The paper was cut using the Big Shot and the Scallop Square die. This card is one of those "it's so easy" types that you just want to show everyone.

Monday Morning Challenge

Today's card is, of course, another Christmas card. I told you the other day that I have really been enjoying the new My Digital Studio computer program. Isn't this card lovely! Now I'm ready to really stamp some of these, or maybe I'll have them printed and add a little embellishment afterwards. Either way, they will look lovely.

I hope this gives you another idea of how to create your own Christmas cards.

A Holiday Greeting

Today's card was done using the sketch for the Saturday Stamping Challenge 411. I just can't stop doing Christmas cards right now. The way it looks, most of my friends will be receiving different cards since I've made so many samples. Today's is just another look at what can be done using the Christmas Jingle Designer Series Kit and some colored brads. I just had to decorate my tree with lots of colored lights. Stamping Challenge during the holidays

Since I'm off work for a few days, I have time to participate in some of the stamping challenges that are around each week. This card is actually a combination from 2 different ones. The sketch was done for the Diva Coffee Break challenge and the colors are part of the Color Throwdown challenge. I don't know that I would ever have selected these colors otherwise.

Again, I used my computer software, My Digital Studio to make this card. It is so great for designing a rough draft. But then, I am also using it to make a scrapbook of our summer vacation. It is so user friendly, and that is very important to me. I don't want to take any more time and effort that I have to do.

Another Christmas Card

Todays card was designed using the sketch for the MojoMonday Challenge. The fascinating part is that I created the card in just a few minutes with no mess in my stamp room. I used My Digital Studio computer program to create this sample. This program is great for creating cards, calendars, and even scrapbooks. I have been really happy with the products that I've created. I can't tell you more....there might be some Christmas gifts in what I have created.

A very simple gift card box

How simple could today's project get? I purchased this tin on sale at a discount store. It is only a little over 1/4" thick. I covered the top with some designer paper, added some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and then stamped and punched the greeting. Isn't it cute? Who wouldn't love to receive a gift card, or even money, this way?

Personalized Journal and Notepad

These samples are so easy to create. All it will take is just a little time and creativity.

For the Journal: Using your designer series papers and an inexpensive journal/notebook, cover the outside as you would any bookcover. I usually add a strip at the binding to give come contrast. I then add a piece of paper inside the covers to disuise the paper that went around the corners. If you want, add a strip of ribbon for an accent.

For the Notepad: I used a 4"x4" coaster and covered one side with designer paper. The clip has a small scrap of the same paper glued around the outside. The ribbons are added as accents but add a nice finishing touch. Now, just glue a small notepad on the coaster and you're finished with another holiday gift.

Lip Balm Holder

If you want to give a quick and easy stocking stuffer or maybe a Secret Santa gift, this one works great. Using just a few scraps of cardstock and an added stamp, if you want, you can create many of these in an afternoon.

Cut a piece of cardstock 3 1/2" x 5 3/4". Score at 2 1/2" and 3 1/4".

Fold the cardstock on one of the score lines. Cut 2 slits through both layers up to the 2nd score line.

Fold on the score lines to create a "book". Put the cut area inside to make a holder for the lip balm.

Decorate the front as you want. Be creative.

Now, be sure to send me photos of your creations.

An early Christmas decoration

This framed holiday decoration is an imitation from another stamper, Leann Greff. She came up with a beautiful idea and I just made a few changes to suit myself. I hope you enjoy it.

The frame is a 6"x12" inexpensive one from a discount store. The papers used come from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Papers in the Stampin'Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. The red/white combination is flocked and very elegant. The substitutions for the "O" in Noel were done using the Merry & Bright Rub-ons. I think they add a nice appearance. The large snowflake was done using the Snowflake Punch and the corners have Real Red 1/4" ribbon attached. For such easy additions, it adds a lot to the overall picture.

I thought these little creatures were so cute that I had to share them with you. I have been collecting punch animal designs over the past few months and these are some of my favorites. In fact I made a large number for the Humane Society to sell at the local Holiday Bazaar.

By using punches and variety of colored cardstock, you can create a multitude of designs. For me, I prefer the simpler ones such as these. When making your own, if you sponge around the edges it seems to make it look a little more complete. You can see this easily on the lion and bear. The lamb even has a little bow on the top of her head to complete the look.

I hope you enjoy these ideas. I would love to see samples of your own creations.

I apologize to everyone for being so lax the past month and not posting. It just seems that things got a little too hectic and I wasn't prepared for it. But now I have had my dear husband taking photos for me and I have a number of blogs ready for your viewing. You will notice that they all revolve around the holidays. I am so ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas that you will be seeing primarily cards and gift ideas during the next 2 months. I hope you enjoy them and I love hearing comments.

Today's sample is my rendition for Thanksgiving placecards/bookmarks. I am planning on making them for our gathering at home this year.

The turkeys are easy to make. The tail feathers are each 1/2 of a scallop punch. Even the beak, feet and wobble were all cut after being punched from the scallop punch. The body was sketched after being punched with the scallop and then cut out. It's very simple...just try it.

The colors I used for the tail feathers were Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. The wobble is Real Read and the beak/feet are So Saffron. A black marker was used to mark the eyes and also the tail feathers on the first row. It is all attached to a large paper clip with dimensionals. All I have to add it the person's name and the place card will be complete.

Hi, Stampers. Today's blog will be a little different as I'm presenting something that requires no stamping, ink or paper at all. Instead, I'm combining my love of the Big Shot die-cutting machine with my other lover, fabric. I've created an iron on applique on a simple child's bib, but this technique can be done with any type of fabric that can be ironed.

First you need to iron adhesive to the back of the fabric you will be cutting. You can cut a couple of layers of fabric at one time, if you wish. I used the Daisies #2 die in this sample and cut fabric of 2 different colors for a little variety. After the fabric has been cut, simply remove the backing and iron onto the bib. I added a corduroy button at the flower center. As for washing, since it isn't sewn down, it will need to be washed on delicate. I hope you enjoy this idea.

Getting in the holiday mood

I got up this morning, after an enlightening chat with my 5 & 6 year old grand daughters, and decided to think "Christmas". As I have mentioned before, I am really enjoying the Medallion stamp. I had the idea to make it into a holiday ornament. And it worked! Of course I had to stamp quite of few of them and then emboss them, but the finished product worked out really well.

I do realize it is only August (well, almost September), but I feel I need to start early as I never know what will slow me down as the holidays approach. There are always so many fun things to do.

The trickiest part of this was to cut the scallop after stamping the design, but almost every time it has worked perfectly. Here's how I mastered that:

1. Cut out the scallop using the Circle die and the Big Shot using a single piece of paper

2. Lay the paper scallop over the stamped Medallion design and line up edges

3.Keeping the 2 pieces together, turn them over and bring close to the Circle die

4. Slightly peel back the scallop paper and align the edges with the die.

5. Be sure to keep the scallop paper and stamped image together on other sides

6. Lay both pieces on the die and cut.

I would love to hear if this works for you as well.

An Early Christmas Card

As you can see, today's cards deal with Christmas. It is never too early to begin planning the cards that you need to make for the holidays. I just received this set as it is a new set, Delightful Decorations, available as of September 1st. Isn't it beautiful. And the best part is that I didn't have to cut them out individually. There is a new punch that does it for me. It will make finishing cards so much faster and easier.

You probably also noticed that I used traditional colors on one card but with the other one I experimented with some of the In-Colors that Stampin'Up! has to offer this year. Actually, I think I like the non-traditional look the best. Let me know what you think.

Medallion Card

Sorry it's been so long between posts. I've been on vacation with my daughter and her family. Between hikes, camping and all the tourist areas, we've been very busy.

Today's card brings back the monochromatic theme using a new stamp, the Medallion. Only one stamp was used to create this beautiful design and you're not even seeing all of it. The stamp is big enough to cover the entire front of a card. I'm sure you'll be seeing many more samples in the future.

A Simple Joy

I just love this design! It was so simple and still, it appears to really catch your eye. Do you agree? I have to admit that I copied the idea from another stamper called "Simplicity". She creates some really nice and simple designed cards. The alphabet set I used is one that Stampin'Up! has retired but it worked in this case. I put little rhinestones to separate the letters. Then, with some Real Red cardstock on the inside of the card and a scallop punched edge, it was finished.

Sometimes the simplest things are the most eye catching. Again, I'd love to hear your comments.

Isn't this a cute and simple card! It took one stamp for the design and just a little layering of cardstock to set them off. I add little rhinestones to the centers for a little pizzazz but I think I could have used Crystal Effects as well. With the saying at the bottom, you could use this card for so many occasions. I had a stamp class at my home last night. It was a small group but we made some really nice cards. Both of the ideas I got from other stampers but they were so beautiful that I wanted to share them here as well. I hope you enjoy them as well.

The textured embossing folders s are so easy to use. Everyone was amazed after they rolled it through the Big Shot. It gives such a crisp raised image. And of course, I had to use my punches as well. Seems I'm never far from them.

The other card swings open at the top by using a small flower brad on the left side. It was a cute card and fun to make. We went ahead and adhered the lower piece of designer paper to the background cardstock to prevent it from slipping. I realize these semi-directions are probably not too clear, so if you need more, just email me and I'll get them to you.

Good morning stampers! I hope you all had a great weekend. I spent yesterday outside hiking and kayaking, but with today's rain, it's a great time to be inside stamping.

Todays card was part of the Mojo Monday Challenge. I have to admit, circles are not my preference. Every time I added a new component those circles just kept glaring at me. I guess I used the oval just to set it off...now I'm not sure it was a good idea. I'm open to suggestions on this one stampers. Tell me what you think...be honest.

Wow! This card ended up with a lot of color. But when you look closely, other than white, you will see only 3 colors...Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence. Don't they blend well together?

Today's card uses the reverse embossing method. To do this I used a Versamark inkpad to stamp the circles on glossy cardstock. They were then embossed in clear. I took daubers (sponges work well too) and rubbed coordinating colors on the paper. This is the result. What do you think? If you need anymore detailed directions, don't hesitate to email me. A Card for Many Occasions

Sometimes a card can be used for many different occasions. In that event, it is nice when you don't have to alter the greeting on the front of a card you've already designed. In this case, the person receiving the card will only have to open it to see the entire greeting.

And again, there are times that words just don't fit the card's design. Would you agree with me? I guess it might go with my motto of "less is more".

It's the weekend and it's raining. Perfect time for stamping. We'll don our rain gear later and hike. But for now, here's my card of the day. And again, nothing too elaborate.

The flower was inked using markers of Dusty Durango and Garden Green. A small slit was cut for the ribbon to wrap around and through the cardstock for a different effect. It's so easy to tie a bow if you wrap the ribbon first. Then take a shorter piece of ribbon and just tie a knot around the flat piece. It makes a nice picture everytime.

Today's card shows a lot of layers, but I decided to keep it simple by keeping only one color in the design. Even the "ribbon" just a strip of the same color paper. I did add a little additional texture using the Textured Plate with the Big Shot. This could work for any number of occasions and in almost any color. This way, any of you can enjoy making it on your own with your personal stash of stamping suppplies.

Today's card was done using the sketch provided by the Stamping411 Challenge. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, trying not to use every accessory or paper that I have. The colors used are the new In Colors by Stampin'Up! and I love them! Their names are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. Don't they just sound luscious? Although I only used 3 of them today, I can assure you that you'll be seeing them frequently in my cards.

As we celebrate our Independence Day this July 4th, I wanted to bring a little bit of our fireworks into the picture. I'm not sure if I'll be able to see the fireworks this year. Here in Alaska it doesn't get dark until around midnight, so that is when the celebration is scheduled. I'm not sure I'll be awake.

The idea for today's card came from another one created by my friend, Gail. I just changed it a little to fit the stamps and supplies that I had on hand. And since I didn't have red ribbon (it is ordered) I used paper layering instead. I think it worked rather well. I, also, have to apologize for using a non-SU! stamp for the background fireworks. I just love that stamp!

Today's card is done using a different technique. It is a little difficult to see but there is a swirly look on the white background. This was done using a technique called Waxed Paper Resist. Today's card is another one that is very simple in design although it looks a little detailed. The pine cone stamp is a new one that SU! has in the new catalog. I've been using this set frequently because it is so diverse. The pine cones are colored using markers and stamped repeatedly around the card. Just add any special words and you have a nice card.

As you can tell, with 2 posts in one day, I've enjoyed being at my stamp table again. This post was done for the Stamping 411 weekly challenge. I altered the original sketch a little by turning the card 90 degrees.

The little flower is made from the scallop punch with a few extra clips with the scissors and a little rhinestone brad for the center. The eyelet punch gives such a nice edge for the greeting background.

Sorry I haven't posted any cards for almost a week now. I have been busy with my daughter and her family visiting. We had a great time hiking, kayaking, visiting museums and basically enjoying Alaska in the summer. I certainly miss them already but now I'm back to stamping.

A friend mentioned recently that many cards are done with so many layers that the postage really adds up when it comes to mailing. So, today I did 2 cards that are very simple. Both

have backgrounds made from simply stamping a simple design repeatedly. In this manner, if you don't have coordinating papers, you can make your own. It seems like years ago we used this technique frequently. Maybe I should try to use it a little more now.

The background stamp comes from a new set in the Stampin'Up! catalog called Autumn Days. Both of the cardstocks are from the new In Color collection. One is Razzle Berry and the other is Bermuda Bay. Aren't they beautiful!

Well, I'll try and post more often now. Have fun stamping.

Special flowers

I am always talking about how simple and easy the Big Shot Die Cut Machine is to work. Well, this weekend 2 of my grand daughters, Morgan and Kristina, (ages 5 & 6) practiced with the creating simple flowers cut from craft foam. It had a little resistance but they were able to cut and then glue together these flowers. They added magnets to the back to adorn my refrigerator and washing machine.

We'll Miss You Card

I designed this card from a pattern online but used it as a We'll Miss You card for a staff member that was moving. It gave everyone room to sign on the inside as well as the back of the card.

The card background was done with SU! textured cardstock. It has more support and is heavier, as well as pretty. The designer paper is called Bella Bleu. It becoming one of my favorites. The 3-D butterfly was done on 2 layers of cardstock and after being colored has Crystal Effects added. This allows me to bend it a little and give it more shape. The antennae are actually for wire wrapping with beads. I have to thank my friend, Dana, for making these available.

This card was designed with scraps of my old designer series papers. Even the little die cut at the top was left after I was using my matchbox die. The ribbon was from a card that I wasn't happy with and reused different parts. So, I guess you can say I used the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle motto.

This card was created using the design for this week's Stamping 411 Challenge. Sometimes there is a difficult format for me and this was my achilles heel. I finally tried to keep it as simple as possible so I used the SU! designer papers for most of the layering. This little stamp is in a set of its own and I just love its simple elegance. It helped tie everything together. I hope you enjoy it.

Watermelon Picnic

Summer is on the way and what better way to enjoy it than to have a picnic with watermelon.

This sample include a checked tablecloth fashioned from weaving 1/4" strips of cardstock together. The napkins on the table are simply squares cut in half. The watermelons were punched using 1 3/4" and 1 3/8" and the bites were cut with the 3/4" punch. I sponged the sky with a little masking for the clouds.

Today's card is one of simplicity. There is no layering except for under the little circles. These are all colors from the Stampin'Up! Rich Regal color family. The colors used are Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Ballet Blue. With Tempting Turquoise ink I stamped the "thank you" and with a marker I drew around the area. The ribbon is 1/4" wide.

I feel that sometimes "less is more" and in this example it is evident. I hope to hear from other stampers if they agree.

Mojo Monday 89

Nothing like getting behind on your regular tasks. The Monday Morning Mojo Challenge is one I really enjoy. Unfortunately, this week I got involved in a few other tasks and one day led into another. Finally, it's Saturday and I finally complete the card.

Today's card uses a few different accessories for me. The punch I used for the 3 hearts is unique as it cuts all 3 at once. Very convenient! Also, since I didn't have embellishments or brads to coordinate with the Regal Rose color on the card, I drew 5 small dots with my Regal Rose marker and then added Crystal Effects for a 3-D look. I think it turned out nicely. I hope you do as well.

Another simple card! Who said that stamping had to be complicated? I have been playing around with my designer series papers and mixing them with card stock that I have on hand.

What developed was a great small card to give with a gift. Even the envelope is exceptionally easy. I'll be teaching how easy in this month's stamp class.

Today's card is similar to one I saw yesterday but I decide to change it just a little. It was very quick to design and complete. Now I just have to find someone with a new baby since I can see this working for either a boy or girl.

Again, I used the Stampin'Up! rub-ons for the words. They line up easily and there are so many to choose. This set is called Chit Chat and has 92 different sayings. But remember, that number is doubled since another sheet has the same ones in white to use on dark cards. Wow! 184 times to use them. I'm surprised myself with the numbers. The rub-on events include: birthday, friend, thank you, get well, good luck and a few others. As you've seen on my cards...I really like them.

A Treat for a Friend

I've got another really easy project for today. I saw this done by another stamper, Rene Oliver. With this great idea you can package a small gift to include a candy bar or small bag of treats.

Everyone knows how much I love my Big Shot die cutter and punches. They just make everything so much easier and quicker. This project uses the scallop circle die (4 1/2" across) and the scallop and medium sized oval punches. The stamp is from Oval All and the ribbon is 1/4" Certainly Celery. I used designer paper called Tea Party.

You will need to score the paper 1 5/8" from each side and fold upwards until they meet. You should then punch a small hole, thread some 1/4" ribbon and tie together. The oval punches are attached with dimensionals to give a more 3-D effect. I can see myself making lots of these, but I'll have to hurry and finish quickly or I'll eat the chocolates before they get wrapped. Now, go out and make lots of gifts.

Today I have another rather simple card. In fact, I didn't even use a stamp on the card.

The cardstock used includes Brocade Blue, Brilliant Blue and Whisper White. A piece of 5/8" Brocade Blue ribbon was layered over the top and the saying is done with Rub-ons. They are great if you don't have the space for a lot of rubber stamps. The Rub-ons are so easy to apply and come in a package of 2 sheets, one dark and the other light. That way you can use them on any color paper and they will show up well. The large flower is Daisy #2 using the Big Shot Die Cutter and is layered using dimensionals for adhesive. The center of the flower is a Summer Sun Corduroy Button.

Post-It Holders

I ordered plain 4" coasters a while back. I was sure that they would come in handy for all sorts of projects. Well, now I've seen some ideas and am ready to start designing. These will make great small gifts for all sorts of occasions.

I used Designer Series Papers to cover the front of each coaster. After gluing them I used the sanding block to smooth the edges. This seems to help set the paper and not let it roll up along the edges. I didn't see any need to do anything to the back. Who will see it anyway? To decorate the clips I cut paper to go all the way around used Sticky Strip to adhere it. The small clips are really more for decoration but give an added bonus of not letting the post-it slip off the coaster even if it is glued down. You can also add a pen or pencil and slide it through the clip at the top. A touch of ribbon adds just a little pizzaz. The daisies on the corner are cut from the Big Shot so they're super easy to cut.

Now, you need no excused to stamp. You "need" to make gifts for all your friends. Have a great week!

This weekend I wanted to present a simple yet effective way to present a card. All this card required was a little paper, a piece of ribbon and one small stamp. You really don't have to have lots of supplies laying around to send a nice card. In fact, most of the paper was found in my scraps box.

Fine Art Examples

Recently, I saw a photograph of a wall hanging that had 9 individual art pictures. Each was a simple geometric type design that could be easily replicated. I decided today to try a few of them. All they required were a paper cutter and punches...so simple. And as easy as they were, I might try more. The results, I think, are unique.

You will note that 2 of them do not have words on the front of the card. It distracted too much from the design so they words will just be inside. Please tell me what you think.

Tissue Box

I thought of this idea last night when I was reaching for my own tissues. Wouldn't it be a cute idea to put on a co-worker's desk if he/she wasn't feeling too well.

Sorry the photo isn't too clear but I used Night of Navy to cut the matchbox using my Big Shot Die Cutter. Then I cut the oval on top with the small oval punch. The gift tag and ribbon are Bashful Blue.

The box hold one full-sized tissue. You can call it an emergency stash.

Gate folded Card

Both these cards were created using a different technique to make the swirly backgrounds. You actually swirl drops of ink into a blob of shaving cream. It is similar to the method for marbleizing paper. Email me and I'll give you the instructions if you're interested. It's really easy and quick.

The cards actually front opening from underneath the strips on the front. The opening is covered by the bottom of the scallop. The primary color used in these cards is Pacific Point. Butterfly in Flight

This card was done during a chat online with other stampers. We had a design format and were free to adjust as needed. If you look close you can see that the butterfly is ready for flight. I stamped it a second time, cut it out, and then mounted to the card.

I made these little placecards for a dinner we were having this evening. I just knew those flowers would cut out nicely. Chalks were used to color the flowers and were fairly easy to cover errors I made. The stamp set used is called the Fifth Avenue Floral and has more really nice stamps in the set.

Create a Simple Card

After seeing a number of extremely simple cards on different blogs, I used some of the designs to show you just how easy it is to make a nice card. Both of these cards took only one or two stamps and some simple layering. As I frequently like to use my punches, they are evident on both cards. I just got my scallop oval punch and I think I'm going to love it. I, also, really like adding the flower brads to make a flower have a little pizzaz. I hope these give you a few ideas of your own.

On Board Album

I recently purchased the On Board Album from SU! It is an unfinished chipboard album that can be covered in your personal way. I decided to use some designer papers. There are still a few finishing touches that I am planning, but it is almost complete and I wanted to share with everyone. The papers used are the Urban Oasis.

Although I used paper, I can see finishing these albums with padded cloth covers, painting, stickers or decals. The options are endless!

Napkin Rings

As I was planning the menu for the group coming for dinner, I decided to dress up the table just a little. As much as I love all my Stampin'Up! papers and accessories, I wanted to demonstrate with just a little item. So, my result was napkin rings using the accordian folded flower. I actually used some of my Sale-a-Bration designer papers and attached them to coordinating ribbon. I was pretty impressed when finished. I'd love to hear what you think.

Mother's Day Card

I have recently seen the cute dress pattern cut from the Big Shot Scallop Circle but I wanted to add something to it. With the smaller scallop circle die I also cut a smaller dress to make a sort of Mommy & Me style. Both are cut from the Rainbow Sherbet designer series papers. Mom's dress has a belt accented with 3 small brads. Daughter's dress has the bow. I think it would work well for Mother's Day.

Unfortunately, I am my own worst enemy when it comes to designing cards. I imitate others very well, but creativity is not my forte. Todays Mojo Monday challenge was one that I decided to attempt and was actually happy with my results. I really only have limited stamps so I had to figure out what would fit on my paper. As a result, I used the SU! Walk In The Park paper, the birds are from Love You Much and "cherish" is from Warm Words. Three brads are attached to a strip of white cardstock as ribbon just didn't do it justice. I hope you enjoy.

Recently a friend of mine opened a small store for beads. She really liked the Decor Elements designs and we put some on the walls. They turned out extremely well and she gets many compliments. The small Garden Flowers that surround the wall clock have small rhinestones added to give a little more contrast and pizazz. The Long Stem Silhouette flowers really outline the bulletin board well. And the Create definition helps define the entire store.

Layers of Flowers

I have been seeing lots of cards lately that include die cuts and/or layering. I decided to use both ideas and put them on this card. Once I had the colors decided, the rest was extremely quick. As usual, I only use a minimum of stamping. Although difficult to see, there is a small flower brad in the center of each flower. I just love to combine colors and keep it relatively simple.

Here is the weekly Mojo card. I designed it using minimal stamps. Emphasis was using one set of designer series papers and coordinating cardstock and my trusty punches. Not too elaborate, but it shows you don't have to have a lot of supplies to make a nice card.

Baby Boy Scrapbook

I have been working for the last couple of days on a 6x6 baby scrapbook. I actually used less than half of the Baby Boy Scrappin'Kit from Stampin'Up! If you want 12x12 or 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 pages, just use the entire kit. It was so easy! I've included a few pages as photos. It is difficult to read all the words on the stickers but I think it turned out well.

Quilted Card

When I saw this basic card idea I got so excited. It uses my Big Shot die cutter that I really love along with my punches...another love. It was easy to assemble. You cut a total of 12--1 1/4" squares (easily done with the SU! punch) and piece together on a piece of 4x5 cardstock. Then after they are glued you make littler x's along the seam lines like it was hand-stitched. Cute, huh? Then you run the entire 'quilt' through the die cutter using the Top Note die. After that you only have to add any words to the front. Enjoy!

Wall hanging with name

I recently saw a vertical wall hanging with BABY written using die cut letters. I have adapted that to design a child's name and move it to a horizontal format. The scallop circles are actually a designer paper that has a light background and all the 4x4 squares are different blue prints. Sorry the photo doesn't pick that up better. I designed another one for the maternity department of a local store that says MOMMY. It's really cute and fits the area.

Mojo Monday 80

This card is for the MojoMonday challenge. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible so instead of brads, I added crystal effects to small dots of marker on the left side. The flower design was watercolored although this is not one of my favorite techniques. I figure with more practice I'll enjoy it more. The words on the lower right are a rub-on. I am loving these as I don't have to align my word stamps exactly. With the rub-ons you can see immediately where they will appear.

A very simple card

This card is designed to be as simple as possible. It has the stamped designed layered over a small piece of ribbon in Kiwi (I love this color!). The little greeting is a rub-on and is a great addition that only takes a few seconds to apply.

Tea bag for a friend

I have been having so much fun with my stamps and accessories lately. I didn't realize how much I missed them until now.

This card is really a little envelope that holds a tea bag. It was simple to cut out and I just stamped 2 different designs all over the paper. After I layered the corner designs I added a spot of crystal effects to the centers. This just really gives it a little bling without any effort. I just didn't have a brad that matched the colors, and the crystal effects adds that 3-d touch, too.

Now I just have to find my friend and we can have a cup of tea together.

Gray and white...

Normally, I wouldn't think of just keeping a card to these 2 colors. But with the designer paper, a strip of 1/4" ribbon, a couple of punches and a tiny stamp, it came together. The words at the bottom of the card are done with rub-ons. They are so handy if you don't want to use stamps, or don't have the space for them.

This card would be great for anyone, male or female.

Baby announcement

Here is a cute way to announce your baby to your friends and family. I just used cardstock with coordinating designer paper and a older SU! stamp. With some simple folds it is closed with a ribbon. The final size is 4" square. Open is 12" long.

This would work well for any occasion. Have fun.

Spring Flowers

As it continues to snow here in Alaska I have to continually find things to do that are fun indoors. You can only shovel snow and take the dogs for a walk so often. These flowers are a copy of some others I saw recently. But they are so cute, I was sure everyone would enjoy them as I do.

They were easily made with my Big Shot die cutter and adding a little tape, stuck them together over some small dowels. I put some shredded paper (great recycling) in a little espresso cup and here they are.

I hope they brighten your day as well.

Here's another Mojo Monday card. This one comes from the same set as the last card. The sentiments are so appropriate at times.

The colors are done with pastels and instead of a bow, I added a little rhinestone brad for pizzaz. I even used strips of designer papers instead of ribbon.

Diamond Fold Card

I saw this folded card pattern online and had to try it. Once the folding is done the decorating can be done so many ways. I enjoyed adding the rhinestone brads for bling.

Lots of matchboxes

I have fallen in love with my matchbox die. I can cut the design quickly on my Big Shot Die Cutter and the fold lines are already there! In the last week I have made almost 50 of these little boxes for 2 different events. With just a little bit of ribbon and cardstock I can add a small greeting on top and it's ready to go.

My guest stamper

Today I have a Guest Stamper...Yvonne. I just love this card she designed. Using designer paper, punches and ribbon, it can be used for numerous occasions. It's difficult to see, but I think there is a small "bling" added to the center of the star. Those little brad and stick-ons really make a card stand out.
