Thanks with Dusty Durango

It's the weekend and it's raining. Perfect time for stamping. We'll don our rain gear later and hike. But for now, here's my card of the day. And again, nothing too elaborate.

The flower was inked using markers of Dusty Durango and Garden Green. A small slit was cut for the ribbon to wrap around and through the cardstock for a different effect. It's so easy to tie a bow if you wrap the ribbon first. Then take a shorter piece of ribbon and just tie a knot around the flat piece. It makes a nice picture everytime.

Trendy Seasonal Trees

Today's card was done for the Saturday Sketch Challenge.  It called for a relatively simple card design. With just a little color to spice it up, this is my final result. I'm still thinking that it needs just a little more but I can't quite figure it out. If you can give me suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Stamp Set Used: Trendy Trees
Ink: Green Galore, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Close to Cocoa

Pink, Green and Yellow Something

This card highlight another of my new stamp sets...Petal Pizzazz. It was designed using colors for the Stamp Something Challenge. It was done using only the colors pink, green and yellow. That's not my usual color palette but they seem to work well together. I hope you enjoy this card.

Happiness

Today's card shows a lot of layers, but I decided to keep it simple by keeping only one color in the design. Even the "ribbon" just a strip of the same color paper. I did add a little additional texture using the Textured Plate with the Big Shot. This could work for any number of occasions and in almost any color. This way, any of you can enjoy making it on your own with your personal stash of stamping suppplies.

Best Wishes

Today's card was done using the sketch provided by the Stamping411 Challenge. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, trying not to use every accessory or paper that I have. The colors used are the new In Colors by Stampin'Up! and I love them! Their names are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede. Don't they just sound luscious? Although I only used 3 of them today, I can assure you that you'll be seeing them frequently in my cards.

Happy 4th of July!

As we celebrate our Independence Day this July 4th, I wanted to bring a little bit of our fireworks into the picture. I'm not sure if I'll be able to see the fireworks this year. Here in Alaska it doesn't get dark until around midnight, so that is when the celebration is scheduled. I'm not sure I'll be awake.

The idea for today's card came from another one created by my friend, Gail. I just changed it a little to fit the stamps and supplies that I had on hand. And since I didn't have red ribbon (it is ordered) I used paper layering instead. I think it worked rather well. I, also, have to apologize for using a non-SU! stamp for the background fireworks. I just love that stamp!

I hope each and everyone of you have a great holiday weekend and are able to spend some time with your family and friends.

Daisy in Pink

Today's card is done using a different technique. It is a little difficult to see but there is a swirly look on the white background. This was done using a technique called Waxed Paper Resist. If you have a Big Shot Die Cutter and Textured Plates you can easily do this procedure. A tutorial is available at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/waxpapercuttlebugresist/.

Papers used: Regal Rose and Whisper White C/S
Accessories: Rhinestone Brad and Regal Rose Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot Die Cutter with Daisy #2 Die & Manhattan Flower Textured Impression

Pine Cone Thinking of You

Today's card is another one that is very simple in design although it looks a little detailed. The pine cone stamp is a new one that SU! has in the new catalog. I've been using this set frequently because it is so diverse. The pine cones are colored using markers and stamped repeatedly around the card.  Just add any special words and you have a nice card.

Stamps Used: Autumn Days
Words from: Kind & Caring Thoughts
Paper: Whisper White and Garden Green C/S
Ink: Garden Green
Markers: Garden Green & Really Rust
Accessories: Scallop Oval and Large Oval Punches

Have a great day stamping.
